SURETY INSURANCE FOR RENEWABLE ENERGIES

In accordance with the new Royal Decree, the bonds for the connection to the electricity grid must amount to 40€/kW installed. Its aim is to obtain authorisation for the operation.

There is a 50% reduction in the financial guarantee to be presented when the electricity generating facilities already have both pre-authorised access and connection permission.

Renewable energy installations with a potential of 15KW or less are not obliged to present these guarantees. However, a guarantee is required when applying for access permission and connection to the network for installations which are for self-use, but which form part of a group with a potential greater than 1MW.
